DAY 1: Parry Sound & Sudbury, Ontario A scenic journey with fall colours in abundance will take us to Parry Sound where we board the Island Queen for a 3-hour cruise. Fall among the 30,000 Island region is spectacular. With its glacier-smoothed islands of ancient Precambrian rock, its tenacious twisted pines, its secluded beaches of golden sand and it dramatic granite cliffs. Georgian Bay's 30,000 Island region is one of Canada's most breathtaking geographic areas. The 550-passenger Island Queen is a beautiful vessel specifically designed with easy maneuverability and shallow draft, allowing her to travel into narrow channels and surprisingly up-close to shorelines. Spacious and comfortable inside seating, large viewing windows and outside viewing decks provide you with a captain's eye view of the passing scenery. Enjoy lunch on your own at the ship's cafe while on board. Following the cruise, we depart for Sudbury where we spend the night.
DAY 2: Science North & Sault Ste Marie, Ontario Before departing Sudbury this morning we pay a visit to Science North. You will have ample time to explore the hands-on exhibits. 3-D films in an underground cavern, and the latest Imax film. Following lunch (on your own) we make our way along the North Channel of Lake Huron, through picturesque towns and villages en route to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario for two-night stay. Hotel features indoor pool, restaurants and lounge. Evening free to dine on your own and perhaps try your luck at the casino.
DAY 3: Agawa Canyon An early start this morning for an 8-hour adventure into the Algoma wilderness. Breakfast will be served on the train while enjoying the spectacular fall colours and scenery from the comfort of big reclining seats and large picture windows as the train winds its way through unspoiled forests, cliffs and waterfalls in the rugged Algoma Region. At the foot of the canyon the walls rise 500 feet....The perfect setting to relax and have lunch on your own outdoors, or inside the train. (Food service is available at the foot of the canyon and also in the train.) There will be a 2-hour stopover in the Canyon to explore the nature trails and lookout points.
DAY 4: Homeward bound, After a hearty breakfast, enjoy the relaxing and scenic journey as we make our way homeward.
