Agawa Canyon & Mackinac Island 4-DAY TOUR: September 15-18/12 DAY 1: Sault Ste Marie, Ontario A scenic journey with fall colors in abundance will take us through the 30,000 Island region in the Georgian Bay area to Sudbury Ontario for a lunch stop. Next we make our way along the North Channel of Lake Huron, through picturesque towns and villages en route to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario for an overnight stay. DAY 2: Agawa Canyon & St. Ignace, Michigan An early start today for an 8-hour adventure into the Algoma wilderness. Breakfast will be served on the train. Enjoy the spectacular fall colours and scenery from the comfort of big reclining seats and large picture windows as the train winds its way through unspoiled forests, cliffs and waterfalls in the rugged Algoma Region. At the foot of the canyon the walls rise 500 feet. There will be a 2-hour stopover in the Canyon to enjoy lunch and explore the nature trails and lookout points. Train is equipped with dining car and snack booths. Returning to Sault Ste. Marie, all will board our luxury coach for the journey to St. Ignace in the great state of Michigan, where our group will spend the next 2 nights at a lovely hotel situated on the shores of Lake Huron. Dinner Included this evening. Following dinner, the remainder of the evening is free to relax, swim in the indoor pool or try your luck at the casino. DAY 3: Mackinac Island Continental breakfast included. All aboard the Ferry this morning for the crossing to Mackinac Island. Upon arrival, a horse-drawn carriage will meet us for a tour of this verdant Island. The tour concludes at the stately Grand Hotel where we will be ushered into the elegant dining room for a Sumptuous buffet! The meal and ambiance of this magnificent world-famous hotel is considered by many as the "highlight of the tour!" Next, you will have time to explore this stately hotel at your leisure. The hotel's most unforgettable architectural feature is its seemingly endless colonnaded front porch. Reputed to be the longest porch in the world, it stretches the entire length of the hotel's elegant facade. Visitors need only spend a few relaxing moments in one of the dozens of rocking chairs on the 880-foot long verandah to understand why this famous porch has captured the hearts of so many for over a century. Time for souvenir hunting before crossing back to the mainland. Evening free or visit the casino DAY 4: Homeward bound Continental breakfast included. On the journey homeward today we cross "Mighty Mac", one of the worlds longest and most beautiful suspension bridge connecting the Upper and Lower Peninsulas. Buffet meal included today before crossing back into Canada and returning home early evening.
